GH for product designers
Grasshopper for product designers is the first workshop in a series that looks at the parametric plug-in for rhino, Grasshopper (GH). GH offers unprecedented fluidity for designers to develop forms that can be interactive, generative, more efficient and highly articulated.
The love competition
Design and technology 2012 thesis show is coming soon and formatters is preparing a series of study models exploring different form behaviors generated from the FMRI data collected in the Love competition.
Grasshopper Workshop

This workshop will be held at Parsons in NYC on Friday 13 (04-13). This workshop is the first in a small series and will engage both the conceptual as well as technical domains of applied parametric design. Rhino, in conjunction with the parametric modeling plug-in Grasshopper offers the possibility to explore parametric and computational design with unprecedented fluidity. Leveraging this capacity, this workshop is structured around a series of small case studies targeted to Product Designers.
Stool || Grasshopper

In this tutorial we work with a simple definition in Grasshopper in combination with the Gumball that comes pre-loaded in the Rhino 5 BETA version to modify 3 simple curves and get infinite variations of the form.
In te process you will learn how to divide curves in simple data matching between list.
Clock || Grasshopper

In this tutorial we will work with a series of operations and list manipulation to generate a clock that can morph into different forms as it goes through the day.
In the process you will learn how to work with Series components, range, domain and rotation
Modelab || Studiomode

"Through an open-ended and promiscuous design approach collaborations are manifest, intelligence is cross-pollinated, and new forms of thinking and doing are discovered... " This is how modelab describes their process, and because I have the pleasure to work for them :), I can say, that nothing could be more true about their design process.
Grasshopper

For designers who are exploring new shapes using generative algorithms, Grasshopper® is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3-D modeling tools. Unlike RhinoScript, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting, but still allows designers to build form generators from the simple to the awe-inspiring.
blime

Blime light is a Parametric light fixture and the first product of formatters. Its form is a byproduct of material investigation and the representation of water as a missing state in the process of transition of a substance from the solid phase to gas.
Blime's proportions are derived from sound waves. Using audio recorded from a conversations with friends in a living room and scripting technology. the waves were analized and both high peak and low peak of the audio were used to determine the revolving profile.
Truecartier
The Truecartier collection is a an ongoing project that explores form as a representation of culture and luxury. By using sound data collected from famous jewelry stores in NYC, and with the use of the scripting language for Rhino, Rhino.Python the topology of the ring morphs dynamically creating a stamp of one-minute duration of sound data.
